SignalCheck

Before you respond to a suspicious message

Check the number, then verify independently

Use the search to see public reports. Even with no matches, contact the organization through its official app, a known account statement, or a number you already trust. Do not rely on a callback number in the suspicious message.

Understand a result

FTC and FCC counts describe reports, not confirmed identities. Read the source dates and status. Multiple FTC datasets can contain the same reports, so counts are not a combined total.

Check a link without opening it

Paste the complete link into the suspicious-link search. SignalCheck compares the exact URL with its current PhishTank snapshot. A different path or a new phishing page may not match.

Never share a verification code

Unexpected requests for passwords, sign-in codes, gift cards, or urgent transfers deserve independent verification. If you believe you lost money, contact your financial institution promptly through a trusted channel.
